This page explains how to delete your Grew account and the associated data, with or without the app. For details of what Grew processes, see the privacy policy.
In short: deleting from the app is immediate and permanent. Without the app, write to developer@gregory-mostacci.fr: we process your request within one month at most.
Option 1: from the app (immediate)
- Open Grew.
- Go to Settings › Delete my account.
- Confirm twice. Your account and your data are then erased straight away.
Option 2: without the app (by email)
If you have uninstalled Grew or can no longer open it, send your request to developer@gregory-mostacci.fr with the subject “Delete my Grew account”.
- If your account has an email address: write from that address. That is how we can check that the account really is yours.
- Otherwise: give your nickname (for example “Grew#1234”). An anonymous account is only tied to your device: we cannot always identify you with certainty, and we may ask you for an extra piece of information before deleting, so as not to erase someone else's account.
We reply to and process your request within one month at most. Good to know: an anonymous account that is never reopened is, in any case, automatically deleted after 24 months of inactivity.
What is deleted
On deletion, all the data linked to your account is erased from the server:
- your profile (nickname, email and hashed password if any, device identifier, language, time zone);
- your mood journal: emotions, intensities, tags and “Other” words, notes, audience of each grew, and any locations still present;
- your photos and voice notes (the files themselves, not just their record);
- your settings (including your default audience) and your consents;
- your sessions on all your devices and your notification tokens (Firebase);
- your groups (ownership of a group is handed over or the group is deleted), the reactions you sent and received, your gifts and their messages;
- your notifications;
- your seeds, items, dances, quests, achievements and mini-game plays.
Seeds and the wardrobe are lost and cannot be recovered or refunded.
What is kept, and for how long
| Data | What happens | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Orders paid through Google Play (if purchases have been opened and you made any) | Anonymised: they are no longer linked to you. Kept as proof of payment | Legal accounting period, up to 10 years |
| Backups of the database and files | Your account stays in the backups until they expire, then disappears | Rolling 30 days |
| Server technical logs (IP address) | Automatic rotation, unrelated to the account deletion | A few weeks at most |
| Log of admin actions | No longer contains your nickname or your email after a deletion | 12 months |
| Reports and moderation decisions | Kept without your name, to meet our legal obligations | 24 months after they are closed |
| Email exchanges with us, including your deletion request | Kept to prove that your request was processed | 3 years after the last exchange |
Only want to erase your mood journal?
You can keep your account and erase only your mood journal (including photos and voice notes): Settings › Privacy › Withdraw my consent. You can also get a copy of your data before leaving with Settings › Privacy › Export my data (JSON file).
